SmartVideo by VideoEngager supported browsers

SmartVideo by VIdeoEngager uses WebRTC as the underlying video technology.

WebRTC is currently embedded and fully supported in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Apple’s Safari in both their desktop and mobile versions.

Microsoft Edge support is in the Desktop version of Windows 10. For Microsoft’s legacy browser – Internet Explorer 11, with no WebRTC native support, VideoEngager video functionality requires a 3rd party plugin from Atlassian.

* Internet Explorer 11 is supported by the Free Version of Temasys Plugin https://temasys.io/products/plugin/. While this works well, this small browser plugin installation may pose an inconvenience to the web visitor and may require additional technical support.

Bandwidth Recommendations for SmartVideo

Different quality of the streams require different bandwidth, for the best experience, please refer to the following table for minimum and maximum bandwidth requirements

Audio Minimum

Opus codec minimum bandwidth is 6kbit/s

Audio Maximum

Opus codec maximum bandwidth is 510kbits/s

Video Minimum

Vp8 codec minimum bandwidth is 100kbits/s

Video Maximum / Quality Requirements

Vp8 codec maximum bandwidth is 2000+ kbits/s

1. 720p at 30 FPS causes 1.0-to-2.0 Mbps bandwidth usage

2. 360p at 30 FPS causes 0.5-to-1.0 Mbps bandwidth usage (recommended)

3. 180p at 30 FPS causes 0.1-to-0.5 Mbps bandwidth usage

Chrome Video Maximum

Maximum video bitrate on chrome is about 2Mb/s (i.e. 2000kbits/s).

Chrome Video Minimum

Minimum video bitrate on chrome is .05Mb/s (i.e. 50kbits/s).

Total Bandwidth

Each RTP port is using 1 MB bandwidth. It means that 4 MB bandwidth is

acquired by each peer.

For typical Agent Desktop requirements for bandwidth is 4MB per simultaneous Video Call
